The Second Look

Your business can be doing well and still ask too much of you. Sometimes you're simply too close to see what's getting in the way. The Second Look gives you an experienced outside perspective on where your business could work better for you.

Money
Is the effort producing the financial return it should?

Time
Is the business giving you enough of your time back?

Role
Are you doing the work where you're most valuable?

Capacity
Are you making full use of the resources you have?

HOW IT WORKS

From conversation to clear recommendations.

The Second Look is a defined engagement with a clear beginning and end.

01

Business Brief

Before we meet, you'll bring me up to speed on the business today, what you want from it, and anything you think I should see before our conversation.

02

90-Minute Diagnostic

We take a focused look at how your business works today, where your resources are going and what isn't working as well as it should.

03

Independent Analysis

I step back from what you've shared to identify the patterns, mismatches and opportunities that deserve your attention.

04

The Second Look Report

You receive a clear assessment of what I see, what I recommend and where I think you should start.

05

60-Minute Recommendation Session

We review the findings together so you understand the recommendations, the reasoning behind them and what should get better as a result.

WHAT YOU'LL RECEIVE

The Second Look Report

This isn't a recap of our conversation. It's my independent assessment of what I see in your business, where I believe there's opportunity, and what I recommend you do about it.

YOUR REPORT WILL SHOW YOU:

What I see
The patterns and issues that become clearer when someone steps outside the day-to-day business.

Where the mismatch is
Where the business you're operating today isn't lining up with what you want it to return to you.

What I recommend
A small number of prioritized changes, with the reasoning behind them.

What I would do first
A clear starting point so everything doesn't become a priority at once.

What should get better
The result you should be looking for if you make the change.

IS THIS FOR YOU?

You've already built the business.

The Second Look isn't for someone trying to figure out whether they have a viable business idea. It's for owners who've been at this long enough to know their business works, but also know it could work better.

This will probably be useful if:

✅ You've been in business for at least two years.

✅ You have real customers and consistent business activity.

✅ You're still actively involved in the day-to-day operation.

✅ You've invested in people, marketing, technology or systems to make things better.

✅ You're putting a lot into the business and aren't convinced you're getting enough back.

✅ You're willing to look honestly at what's happening and consider an outside opinion.

One defined engagement. No retainer. No ongoing commitment.

It's probably not the right fit if:

❌ You're still trying to prove that people will buy what you're selling.

❌You're looking for someone to execute marketing, operations or other work for you.

❌You want an ongoing consultant or someone embedded in the business.

❌You're looking primarily for validation of a decision you've already made.

WHY WORK WITH ME

25 years of talking with business owners.

I've spent my career working with business owners, first as one myself, then through sales, marketing, leadership and advisory work.

I've owned businesses, sold a business and software product, led teams, and spent the last decade increasingly focused on helping entrepreneurs and business owners make better decisions about what they're building.

That range matters here. The Second Look isn't based on a single formula or playbook. It's about understanding the business you've actually built, why it works the way it does, and where something may no longer be serving you.

I've also been the owner who took on too much, held onto work I should have shared and created complexity I later had to unwind. I know how easy it is to lose perspective when you're the person inside the business every day.

My job isn't to tell you how a business should work. It's to help you see how yours could work better for you.

SOMETIMES YOU JUST NEED A SECOND LOOK

You've built something that works. If you think it could be working better for you, it may be time to see it from the outside.

One defined engagement. No retainer. No ongoing commitment.
